MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has approved a Rs. 286 billion budget for fiscal year 2026–27.
The budget includes Rs. 36 billion for development spending and Rs250 billion for non-development expenditure.
The approved financial plan will fund government operations, public services and development schemes across AJK during the new fiscal year.
The development allocation is expected to support infrastructure, public welfare and regional uplift projects, while the non-development portion will cover recurring government expenses.
The budget approval comes as provincial and regional governments across Pakistan finalise their financial plans ahead of the start of FY2026–27 on July 1.
