Rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in parts of Pakistan, while most areas of the country are likely to remain hot and dry, according to the latest weather outlook.
The changing weather may affect upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Punjab, where isolated rain-windstorm and thunderstorm activity is forecast. Some areas may also experience gusty winds during the spell.
Weather conditions in major cities are expected to remain mixed. Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar may continue to face warm conditions, while northern and hilly areas could see cloud development and scattered rain. Karachi is expected to remain warm and humid, with sea winds influencing the city’s weather.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has reported that rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred in isolated areas of South and Central Punjab, Upper and Southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the past 24 hours.
Authorities usually advise citizens to remain careful during strong winds and thunderstorms, especially in areas where weak structures, billboards, solar panels, trees or electricity poles may be affected. Motorists should drive carefully during sudden rain or dust storms, as visibility may drop quickly on highways and city roads.
People living in low-lying areas should also remain alert in case of short but intense rainfall. Urban areas can face temporary water accumulation if rain coincides with poor drainage or heavy traffic movement.
Farmers have been advised in previous weather alerts to manage crops according to changing weather conditions. Travellers heading towards hilly and northern areas should check the latest weather updates before departure, particularly if rain or strong winds are expected along mountain routes.
Hot and dry weather is still likely to dominate most parts of the country. However, isolated rain and thunderstorm activity may provide temporary relief in affected regions.
Residents are advised to follow official weather updates and avoid standing near trees, signboards, electric poles and under-construction structures during strong winds.
