More than 147,000 tourists visit Kaghan during Ashura holidays

More than 147,000 tourists visited Kaghan Valley during the Ashura holidays, as a large number of families and travel groups moved towards the popular northern destination for a short break.

The tourist rush was recorded during the extended holiday period, when visitors travelled to Naran, Kaghan and nearby scenic spots to enjoy the cool weather, mountains, lakes and the Kunhar River.

Local authorities remained active to manage traffic flow and guide tourists in busy areas. The heavy movement of vehicles was seen on major routes leading towards the valley, particularly near key tourist points and hotel zones.

Officials also advised visitors to follow safety instructions, avoid going too close to the river and cooperate with traffic police and local administration staff. Tourists were urged to park vehicles only in designated areas to prevent road blockages.

Kaghan remains one of the most visited summer destinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially during long weekends and public holidays. The valley attracts domestic tourists from different parts of Pakistan due to its natural scenery, pleasant weather and road access from major cities.

Authorities also reminded tourists to keep tourist spots clean and avoid throwing waste near roads, rivers and picnic areas.

The latest rush shows that northern Pakistan continues to remain a top choice for local travellers during public holidays, with Kaghan Valley once again witnessing strong visitor activity.
