Paraguay made a dream start at the FIFA World Cup 2026 as Matías Galarza scored inside the opening 65 seconds against Turkey, giving his side a 1-0 victory in a tense Group D match.
The early goal stunned Turkey and immediately placed Paraguay in control at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium. Galarza’s quick finish became one of the fastest goals of the tournament so far, but it did not break the all-time FIFA World Cup record.
