Pakistani and Chinese Firms Sign Lithium-Ion Battery MoU

Pakistani and Chinese companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in lithium-ion battery technology, energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging, and clean energy solutions.

The MoU was signed between Pakistan’s Saigols Group and China’s Hebei Juhang Energy Technology Group, marking another step in growing Pakistan-China industrial cooperation in the clean energy sector.

According to available details, the agreement focuses on exploring joint opportunities in battery manufacturing, energy storage, and EV-related infrastructure. These areas are becoming increasingly important as Pakistan works to reduce fuel dependence, expand renewable energy use, and support electric mobility.

The cooperation may also help Pakistan move toward local production of advanced battery systems, a sector considered vital for solar power storage, electric vehicles, telecom backup systems, and industrial energy needs.

Officials and industry observers view such partnerships as important for technology transfer and investment in Pakistan’s emerging clean-energy supply chain.

The MoU comes as demand for lithium-ion batteries continues to rise globally due to wider use of electric vehicles, solar energy systems, and battery energy storage solutions.
