Pakistan is set to start a doorstep passport delivery service from July 1, 2026, allowing citizens to receive completed passports at their homes instead of visiting passport offices for collection.
The move is aimed at reducing long queues at passport offices and making the passport collection process easier for applicants across the country.
According to details reported on the planned rollout, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports is working to upgrade its delivery system, improve transparency, and ensure passports are dispatched to applicants in a timely manner.
The new service is expected to benefit people who currently have to return to passport offices after completing the application process. Once the system is operational, applicants will be able to receive their passports through a home delivery mechanism after processing is completed.

Officials are also working on wider reforms in passport services, including digital facilitation measures and improved online support for applicants. These steps are part of a broader effort to modernise public service delivery and reduce dependence on physical counters.
Further details, including the courier fee, city-wise availability, delivery timelines, and final procedure for applicants, are expected to be shared through official channels before the rollout begins.
For now, citizens applying for passports are advised to follow instructions issued by passport offices and check official updates regarding the new delivery option.
