Pakistan Army has won first place at the International Pacesticking Competition 2026 held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, marking another major achievement for the country’s armed forces on the international stage.
The Pakistan Army team was represented by the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA). According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PMA team delivered an outstanding performance and secured the top position in the annual military drill competition.
The Pakistani contingent made a clean sweep at the event by winning all major honours, including the Overall Team Trophy, Best Pace Sticker award, and Best Driver award.
The nine-member team was led by Major Haider Gulzar, Adjutant of PMA. The contingent arrived in the United Kingdom on June 5, 2026, to take part in the competition.
A total of 16 international teams from different armies participated in the event, which is known for testing discipline, precision, coordination, and ceremonial drill standards.
Pacesticking is an important part of military drill training. It requires accuracy, rhythm, confidence, and teamwork, as participants are judged on their ability to maintain exact movement and pace-stick handling during formal drill routines.
ISPR said the victory reflected the high standards of professional training, excellence, and dedication maintained by the Armed Forces of Pakistan.
Pakistan has previously performed strongly in international military drill competitions, including earlier successes at Sandhurst. The latest win adds to Pakistan Army’s record of international recognition in professional military training and ceremonial excellence.
The achievement has been widely welcomed in Pakistan, with many praising the PMA team for representing the country with discipline and distinction.
