Hyundai Nishat is all set to reintroduce the 6th generation Elantra in Pakistan, creating a buzz in the local automotive market. After months of anticipation and teaser campaigns, the relaunch aims to give Hyundai a fresh push in the competitive sedan segment dominated by the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.
The Elantra, which had already made its mark in Pakistan with its bold design and performance, is expected to come back with updated trims and improved features. The relaunch will most likely be highlighted at the upcoming Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS), a major industry event that often sets the tone for new vehicle entries in the country.
While Hyundai has yet to confirm full specifications, reports suggest the 6th gen Elantra will return with cosmetic updates, improved infotainment, and enhanced comfort features. The GLS variant is expected to be the flagship offering, while more affordable trims may also be introduced to target budget-conscious buyers.
Local sources hint at a 1.6L engine for base variants and a more powerful 2.0L for the top trim. New additions may include wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, upgraded safety systems, and dual-zone climate control. Hyundai is also focusing on better fuel efficiency to stay competitive in a market that’s becoming increasingly fuel-conscious.
Unofficial sources suggest that the relaunch price for the Elantra may start around PKR 6.4 million for the base variant, going up to PKR 7.2 million for the fully loaded GLS trim. Bookings are expected to open shortly after the official launch announcement, with deliveries projected to begin in late 2024 or early 2025.
Given that the Elantra will be locally assembled by Hyundai Nishat Motors, customers can expect faster delivery times and potentially lower maintenance costs compared to imported models.
Hyundai’s move comes at a time when the sedan market in Pakistan is heating up. The Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic have long ruled the roads, but buyers are now looking for fresh designs, tech features, and better value for money. The Elantra’s relaunch is Hyundai’s attempt to win over this evolving customer base.
What’s more, with BYD and other new players entering Pakistan’s auto industry, established brands like Hyundai need to keep innovating to stay relevant. The company’s focus on better styling, premium interiors, and hybrid readiness reflects a strategy to tap into both traditional and modern customer segments.
Hyundai’s decision to bring back the 6th generation Elantra is a big move for Pakistan’s car market. With its stylish look, good performance, and new features, the Elantra is ready to compete with popular sedans like the Corolla and Civic.
As bookings open and the launch event gets closer, many people will be watching to see how well it does. Whether you're thinking about buying a new car or just interested in auto news, the return of the Elantra is something to keep an eye on.
